We were STUNNED. She has been adamant that she never, ever, ever wants her ears pierced - ever.
So we talked about it for a while, to make sure she really wanted to do it.
She did.
So we went up and she sat in the chair at the store and the process began. Of course, she wanted something that "sparkled!" I was going to go for a classic white or yellow gold ball earring, but her daddy thought if she was going to be brave enough to pierce her ears - the sparkle was worth the money. Two ladies came and pierced each ear at the same time - helpful so that no one ends up with one earring after they realize how it hurts. And after a few tears (she is one that likes to keep it in), it was over.
And now.....pink birthstone sparkle earrings. Two very stunned and proud parents (didn't even have a camera with us) and a very proud, sparkly five year old. I must admit - it makes her look a little too old for my taste!
And I am so glad things are rarely serious around here:
And someone is so close to walking (although not in this photo)- don't you just love her little donkey friend - you should hear/see him sing and flap his ears around (so cute):
