Camping in style

My husband and I both grew up going "tent" camping with our families as kids. We neither one would describe ourselves as the camping type. I like showers, air conditioning {where we can escape from the heat} and not having to wear bug spray morning to night. Although, being outside without humidity, oppressing heat,  or allergies {none of which we get here in the summer} does make us slightly more "outdoorsy".
But, we broke out of our ways and set sail with our two small children in tow with my parents in their RV for the weekend. This is much better camping than I ever remembered in a tent! My sister, brother-in-law and niece were camped right next to us for the weekend as well. It was a family affair.
There were many meals here:
Many trips down to the lake {swimming and rock collecting/throwing}:
Many trips to the playground {yippee}:
It is relaxing for most to take it easy camping, watching the sunset and spending the day floating in the lake, but, I would not call camping with a 17 month old relaxing in any sense. It is non-stop busy with this one.
But, with all that said, there are memories I will never forget. Being that close to all my family for a weekend is a gift {memories and constant displays of patience and love by all}. We loved it and are so grateful for the generosity and love that my parents bestow on each of us every second of every day. It is never more magnified than when they are taking care of my children {never even complaining when they are woken with little knocks on the door earlier than they might like}, providing meals for all of us and especially working tirelessly day to night so that each of us can to have fun.
Thanks for having us as your guests for the weekend mom and dad! We loved it!
