Skating...a first

Our oldest was invited to a friend birthday party over Thanksgiving weekend...a skating party. Since we have not taken her roller skating before, this was her first time on skates {actually a first for both our girls}. They both did so well.

The little took off, walking everywhere. Her skates were locked, so she could just walk around without worrying about falling down. By the end of the time, that was proving too easy for her - so she started trying to jump on her skates. 

The older hung in there so well. Her skates didn't have the locking option, so she had to endure learning to balance {and us and the wall helping her balance}. She kept at it though and by the end was even letting go of the wall some and doing so well. Her favorite part was when they went out in their socks after the cake and danced on the skating rink. She smiled from ear to ear!

It was a sweet time to get to watch the girls experience something new.
